Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival
The 17th Annual Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival has kicked off on a fantastic Spring day in Whistler.
Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival known as 'Telus Festival' to the locals is the biggest annual gathering of winter sports, music, arts and culture in North America. The best news is there is plenty of free concerts and world class skiing and snowboarding competitions to experience.
The Outdoor Concert Series
Located at Skiers Plaza from 2.30-5.30pm. These free concerts feature a collection of award winning International artists spanning a variety of music genres.
Friday 13th - The Dudes
Satuday 14th - Swollen Members at 6pm and Trouble Andrew at 9.45pm
Sunday 15th - TinPan Orange and The Cat Empire
Monday 16th - Half Moon Run and Teal Leaf Green
Tuesday 17th - Head of the Herd and Louder than Love
Wednesday 18th - Ash Grundwald and The Beautiful Girls
Thursday 19th - Eric Solomon and Dragonette
Friday 20th - Nine Mile and Michael Franti and Friends
Saturday 21st - Animal Nation at 2pm and DJ Grandtheft at 8pm
Sunday 22nd - The British Columbians and The Sheepdogs
Skiing and Snowboarding Action
Monster Shred Show runs from Saturday April 14 to Tuesday April 17. This 5 star TTR snowboard event features some of the best snowboarders from across the world competing for a $50,000 cash purse. Events include:
- Big Hit
- Boarderstyle
- Slopestyle
- The Mogel Duel
World Skiing Invitational starting on Thursday April 19 until Sunday April 22nd is the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) World Championship. Competitions include:
- Slopestyle
- Big Air
- Superpipe
