December Skiing in Whistler with Two New Lifts

29th October, 2013

The excitement is building for the upcoming winter season with both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains scheduled to open November 28th. The 30 day countdown has started and the weather forecasts over the next 14 days are predicting low temperatures and snow to the village. The early season excitement is particularly high this season as the anticipation has been building for the opening of Whistler Blackcomb's 2 New lifts scheduled to open early December.

Mother Nature has been on Whistler Blackcomb's side this fall as construction crews reach the final steps of getting the two new chairlifts ready for winter. As the final steps are completed and chairs are loaded onto the lift line, some final testing and maintenance and Whistler Blackcomb will be spinning two new Chair Lifts this season.

Both new chairs bring greater access to terrain on both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains and are scheduled to open on December 7, 2013 with lots of festivities still to be announced to celebrate the occasion. Adding to that the fantastic snowfall averages Whistler Blackcomb has in November and December of 2.4 and 2.3 meters respectively, early December is shaping up to be one to remember.
