There is absolutely nothing better in the summer than a day at one of Whistler’s five lakes. The wide-open spaces, tranquil water, towering forests, and countless activities to spend the day make for awesome memories.

Here are our tips for relaxing at the lake during the summer:

1. Choose Your Lake for the day

With five lakes to choose from, you won’t go wrong when picking a spot in Whistler. No matter which one you choose, you’ll have fun and have the opportunity to try something new! Check out our blog about the different lakes and what to pack for your lake day here.

2. Take in the Scenery

While enjoying your time at the lake, don’t forget to take in the beautiful scenery around you! Lakeside parks and beaches, calm water, and a summer day in the mountains – you won’t want to leave! Snap a few photos to remember your blissful day on the water.

3. Activities at the Lake

Ask our team about renting a paddleboard, sailing lessons, wakeboarding, and more! There are plenty of ways to explore Whistler’s lakes and no way to go wrong! On a calm morning, paddle boarding will have you refreshed and ready for the rest of your day. Other ways to relax beside the lake include reading a book or playing cards.

4. Picnic

Any great lake day will include snacks! Bring yourself a blanket, fruit, snacks, and maybe some water to enjoy a picnic by the lake on a sunny day. Many of Whistler’s lakes are just a short walk or bike-ride away, pack your bag accordingly. Just remember to not feed the local wildlife!

A day on the lake should be on everyone’s bucket list when visiting Whistler in the Summer! Looking for accommodation in Whistler? Check out our Stress-Free Summer Savings Promotion for a special hotel deal while travelling.
