Summer in Whistler is full of events, from the amazing Crankworx biking festival to Beerfest. One of the most anticipated event series by Whistler locals and tourists is the Summer Outdoor Concert Series that runs over the summer months for free. The lineup for this year has been released and we couldn’t be happier.

FRIDAY, JULY 1 – Sam Roberts Band

The music of Sam Roberts isn’t always the easiest to categorize as it is so diverse, however, if you enjoy alternative, melodic Brit-pop, you might want to make sure you catch this Canadian rocker. His most notable song to date is Brother Down from the We Were Born In A Flame album.

THURSDAY, JULY 7 – The Funk Hunters

Get your dancing shoes on and make your way to the front of the stage. The Funk Hunters are known for their forward-thinking electronic music that is influenced by old-school funk, soul, and hip-hop. It is hard to choose what might be their most popular song, but tracks like Warn Ya and the Empire Remix are two that you will most definitely want to boogie to.

FRIDAY, JULY 8 – Serena Ryder

Toronto-based powerhouse vocalist, Serena Ryder is adored by her fans, peers, and critics as is shown by her platinum-selling albums. Her raw and electric live performances have made her a must-see at many festivals. Her hit track Stompa also saw her win multiple awards including Best Rock Video at MuchMusic Video Awards.

THURSDAY, JULY 14 – Stars

FRIDAY, JULY 15 – Barney Bentall

THURSDAY, JULY 21 – Tynomi Banks and The Bratpack

Break out your high heels and tease your hair because Tynomi Banks is coming to Whistler with a world-class Drag Performance. The only drag performer to be featured in a SuperBowl ad other than RuPaul herself, Banks has been recognized for her full production performances while carrying a radiating stage presence and playful energy.

FRIDAY, JULY 22 – Chin Injeti & introducing ZADA

A Canadian singer/songwriter that fuses nostalgic sounds from the 80s with a modern flair to create refreshing new music, Chin Injeti is a must-see act. He has worked with artists such as Drake, Eminem, P!NK, and more which has filled his trophy case with Grammys and Socan Awards.

THURSDAY, JULY 28 – Gurdeep Pandher

Yukon-based educator and Bhangra artist, Gurdeep Pandger creates dance performance pieces that promote inclusivity and brings people together. His shows are an experience that will fill you with love and joy as you dance, laugh, and connect with everyone around you.

FRIDAY, JULY 29 – Choir! Choir! Choir!

Fancy yourself a singer? Or maybe you just want to enjoy the thrill of singing with thousands of people at once? Choir! Choir! Choir! started off as weekly drop-in singing events and are now touring on larger stages, bringing people together through song and comedy. You will get a lyric sheet, you will be taught the vocal arrangement and then you get to perform well-known classic songs with hundreds of people alike. Everyone has an amazing time and you are guaranteed to be left feeling amazing.

Thursday, August 4 – Ron Artis II & The Truth

Ron Artis II & The Truth are a power funk and soul trio from Hawaii. Led by the very talented singer and guitarist Ron Artis II, the smooth sounds travel across the globe with their strong focus on positive lyrics and good vibes. Their song Searching for Answers has seen them blow up across the music scene and their second album, Purpose, has backed up their endless talent.

Thursday, August 18 – DJ Shub

Formally of A Tribe Called Red, DJ Shubb is bringing his hard-hitting album War Club live to Whistler. His stage presence and energy, phenomenal skills on the decks, and award-winning albums put together for an amazing live show that will have you talking about it for days on end.

Thursday, August 25 – The J.B.’s

The J.B’s were the legendary supporting musicians behind the legend himself, James Brown. Known as the tightest, best-drilled instrumental ensemble in all of funk, The J.Bs still bring the same energy and vibes on stage as they did in the ’60s
