Visiting Whistler, BC is a must do in the Winter. Well known for its world class ski resort, Whistler Blackcomb, it is also home to some of the most amazing experiences you will find in British Columbia, making it one of Canada’s most popular holiday destinations. At the Crystal, we are always helping to shape people’s vacations into an experience that they will never forget. We have complied some of our favorite activities to do in Whistler Village in Winter so that you can plan your 2021 Winter holiday with ease.

Outdoor Ice-Skating Rink

A family favorite and a great experience for those who have never ice skated before is the Whistler Olympic Plaza Skating rink. Here you can go skating in the heart of Whistler Village whilst taking in amazing views of the surrounding mountains. This is especially magical when skating and seeing all of the festive lights illuminating the Whistler Village Stroll. With rental ice skates available, as well as helmets and skate aids at no extra charge it makes ice skating easy for first timers and families to experienced skaters.

Lit Up Adventures

If taking a stroll through the forest and diving into unexpected enchantment is something that catches your attention, you must check out Vallea Lumina. Located a short 5 minute drive north of Crystal Lode, the multimedia night walk leads you on the excursion taken by two long-ago hikers where pathways lead toward beauty. You will enter a world filled with adventure as you make your way through the old-growth forest where the amazing lights bouncing colors off the snow will have you in awe with every step you take.

Zip Through Snowy Peaks

Stepping off a platform 200ft off the ground and flying up to 100 km/hr in between snow covered trees is an experience that you will never forget. Superfly Ziplines starts off with a custom 4×4 climb up Rainbow Mountain until you are greeted by dual ziplines well over a kilometer long. Your other option is Ziptrek Eco Tours and their Eagle Tour where you will literally fly like an eagle between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain. Their tour involves a 2400ft zipline with a 30-storey descent which will have your heart pounding as you take in the beautiful views Whistler has to offer.

Go Full Throttle

Cruise the Callaghan, go on a wilderness run or become a mountain explorer with Canadian Wilderness Adventures and their snowmobile tours. They have 7 tours available to suit everyone from beginners to advanced riders, including their backcountry tours which will put you out into the alpine and blasting through rolling hills of powder with 360-degree views of Whistler. All tours have something that makes them different to each other, the only thing that is the same is a guarantee that you will be smiling from ear to ear.

Experience Olympian Speeds

One of Whistlers most unique activities is the bobsleigh at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Racing the clock at the same track that was used in the 2012 Winter Olympics, you will experience speeds of 125+ km/hr and acceleration forces of up to 4 g-forces. Want to step up the adrenaline rush? Slide solo on your own skeleton sled reaching speeds up to 100 km/hr over 6 turns. The best part, you get 2 runs which means you can race against yourself on the second run!

At the Crystal Lodge we love to make everybody’s experience one that they will never forget.
