Posted on June 28, 2026
Whistler is the perfect summer escape, offering a mix of adventure, relaxation, sightseeing, dining, and mountain-town charm. Whether you’re planning a quick weekend getaway, a balanced mid-week escape, or a full week in the Sea to Sky, there is no shortage of ways to fill your days.
To help you make the most of your time, we’ve put together three Whistler summer itineraries for 2026: a 3-day adventure for go-getters, a 5-day escape with a balance of activity and relaxation, and a 7-day itinerary for those who want to see it all. From biking and alpine hikes to lake days, patios, cultural experiences, and scenic drives, these itineraries are designed to help you plan an unforgettable summer stay in Whistler.
Please note that lift access, alpine trails, tours, restaurant hours, and park access can change throughout the season, so we always recommend checking current conditions and booking ahead where possible.

Day 1: Arrive, Explore, and Ease into Village Life
Arrive early and make the most of your first day in Whistler. If you’re here for biking, head straight to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park or explore some of the area’s scenic cross-country trails. If hiking is more your style, plan a valley-level trail or, when conditions allow, head into the alpine for a bigger mountain adventure.
After your first dose of fresh mountain air, settle into the Village and enjoy the lively summer atmosphere. Browse the shops, grab a drink on a patio, or take a relaxed stroll along the Village Stroll. For dinner, keep things close and enjoy BALAM, located right at Crystal Lodge. With bold Latin American flavours, colourful cocktails, and a vibrant setting, it’s a memorable way to kick off your Whistler getaway.
Day 2: Gondolas, Ziplining, Rafting, or Bears
Start your morning with the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola and take in some of Whistler’s most iconic alpine views. Depending on the time of summer and current trail conditions, you can add a short alpine walk, sightseeing stop, or mountaintop lunch.
In the afternoon, choose your next adventure. Zipline through the forest with Ziptrek Ecotours, head out on a whitewater rafting trip, or book a guided bear viewing tour for the chance to see Whistler’s black bears in their natural habitat. These experiences are popular in summer, so booking ahead is strongly recommended.
Finish the day with a sunset picnic by Alta Lake or enjoy a relaxed seafood dinner at Rimrock Café.
Day 3: Lake Morning and One Last Village Brunch
For a slower final morning, rent a paddleboard, canoe, or kayak and spend time on one of Whistler’s beautiful lakes. Lost Lake, Alta Lake, and Green Lake all offer different views and ways to enjoy the water.
Afterward, head back to the Village for a final stroll before brunch at Beacon Pub & Eatery. Located right on the Village Stroll, Beacon is a great place to wrap up your trip with a casual meal, a sunny patio, and a front-row seat to Whistler’s summer energy.
This 3-day itinerary blends adventure, dining, sightseeing, and relaxation into one quick but memorable Whistler escape.
The 5-Day Whistler Escape
Balanced Adventure and Relaxation
With five days in Whistler, you can slow things down and enjoy a more balanced pace. This itinerary mixes outdoor adventure, culture, dining, wellness, and lake time, making it ideal for guests who want to experience a bit of everything without feeling rushed.

Days 1–2: Follow the 3-Day Itinerary at a Slower Pace
Start with the highlights from the 3-day itinerary, but give yourself more breathing room. Spend your first day settling into the Village, exploring nearby trails, or heading out for a bike ride. On your second day, enjoy the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, ziplining, rafting, or bear viewing without trying to fit too much into one day.
For breakfast, stop by Forecast Coffee or another local café for coffee, baked goods, and something easy before heading out. For dinner, consider Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar for an elevated evening of seafood-forward, coastal-inspired dining.
Day 3: Callaghan Valley, Brandywine Falls, and Local Culture
Use your third day to explore beyond the Village. Head toward the Callaghan Valley for an ATV or buggy tour, or make a scenic stop at Brandywine Falls for one of the area’s most accessible and impressive waterfalls.
For lunch, visit Creekbread and enjoy wood-fired pizza made with fresh, local ingredients. In the afternoon, spend time at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, where you can learn about the traditions, art, and stories of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation.
For dinner, enjoy a special meal at Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar, one of Whistler’s most established fine-dining restaurants and a favourite for seasonal, locally inspired cuisine.

In the afternoon, visit the Audain Art Museum to explore an impressive collection of Indigenous and contemporary art. Afterward, return to the Village for a relaxed evening. For dinner, choose Bearfoot Bistro for a celebratory night out, or keep things casual with one of Whistler’s many patios and bistros.

Day 5: River of Golden Dreams or Train Wreck Trail
On your final day, fit in one more outdoor adventure. Paddle the River of Golden Dreams for a peaceful morning on the water, or hike to the Whistler Train Wreck, a colourful and unique trail featuring forest paths, suspension bridges, and graffiti-covered train cars.
After your morning adventure, enjoy lunch or dinner at 21 Steps Kitchen + Bar, known for warm hospitality, generous portions, and modern comfort food. It’s a perfect place to reflect on your trip before heading home.
This 5-day itinerary gives you time to enjoy Whistler’s adventure, wellness, dining, and culture at a comfortable pace.
The 7-Day Whistler Ultimate Adventure
For Those Who Want to See It All

Day 2: Whistler Village and Valley Trail

For lunch, try Hunter Gather for casual comfort food and a laid-back atmosphere. In the afternoon, rent bikes and explore the Valley Trail, a paved network that connects the Village with lakes, parks, neighbourhoods, and scenic viewpoints.
For dinner, enjoy Wild Blue Restaurant + Bar for an elevated evening out, or choose a casual Village patio for something more relaxed.

Day 3: Alpine Adventures
Dedicate Day 3 to Whistler’s alpine. Ride the gondola, take in the views, and enjoy sightseeing across Whistler and Blackcomb. Depending on the season and current conditions, you may be able to access alpine hiking trails, scenic viewpoints, and mountaintop dining.
For lunch, enjoy a meal on the mountain, then spend the afternoon joining a guided Jeep tour or exploring another outdoor activity. In the evening, book a table at Quattro for Italian dining in the heart of Whistler Village.
Day 4: Pemberton and Joffre Lakes
If you’re up for a bigger day trip, head north toward Pemberton and plan a visit to Joffre Lakes. This iconic hike is known for its turquoise glacial lakes and mountain views, but it requires careful planning. Day-use trail passes may be required during the summer season, and the park can have scheduled closures or advisories, so always confirm access before you go.
Pack water, layers, snacks, and proper footwear, and be prepared for changing mountain conditions. After your hike, stop in Pemberton for a casual meal at Mile One Eating House or another local favourite before returning to Whistler.
For a gentler alternative, consider Nairn Falls, One Mile Lake, or a relaxed afternoon exploring Pemberton’s farms and cafés.
Day 5: Golf, Lakes, and Leisure
After several active days, enjoy a slower pace. Start with a round of golf at Nicklaus North Golf Club, one of Whistler’s most scenic courses, with mountain and lake views throughout.
Have lunch at Table Nineteen Lakeside Eatery, then spend the afternoon paddleboarding, swimming, or relaxing by Alta Lake. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Red Door Bistro for an intimate and memorable meal, or choose one of Whistler’s many casual dining spots if you prefer a relaxed night.

Day 6: Pemberton Farms, Horseback Riding, and Scenic Stops
Return to Pemberton for a day of wide-open valley views and slower-paced adventure. Start at North Arm Farm for breakfast, coffee, and seasonal produce, then book a horseback riding experience to take in the area’s mountain and farmland scenery.
For lunch, visit The Pony or another local Pemberton restaurant. In the afternoon, choose a scenic stop such as Nairn Falls or One Mile Lake rather than planning around Keyhole Hot Springs, as access to the hot springs has been restricted due to wildlife concerns.
Return to Whistler for dinner at 21 Steps Kitchen + Bar, a locally owned favourite for modern comfort food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Day 7: Farewell to Whistler
Spend your final morning enjoying a leisurely brunch at Stonesedge Kitchen or another Village favourite. Take one last walk through the Village, pick up souvenirs, and stop by Purebread for baked goods before the drive home.
On your way back to Vancouver, consider one final scenic stop at Brandywine Falls, Shannon Falls, or Porteau Cove, depending on your schedule.
