If you love that first real taste of winter in the Village when your breath turns into tiny clouds and the mountains start to glow at dusk, Whistler Winterlight is your night. After a huge debut last year that packed Whistler Olympic Plaza and even brought a sixty foot Ferris wheel to the Village, the celebration is back with an upgrade. It was so successful that organizers added another day, turning it into a three night kickoff to the season from November 27 to 29, 2025. Consider this your friendly nudge to put it on the calendar, rally your crew, and make a weekend of it.

The vibe
Whistler Winterlight is the Village’s big “hello, winter.” Lights, music, skating, and an easygoing crowd at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Last year was such a hit they added another day. Now it runs November 27 to 29, 2025.
Where and when
Find it at Whistler Olympic Plaza in Village North. Admission is free. Expect small fees for the Ferris wheel and skating, with rentals available. Detailed hours are coming soon.
Why go
Walk through glowing arches, try interactive light installations, and catch a live DJ. Take a spin on the sixty-foot Ferris wheel for a sparkling view of the Plaza. Warm treats and photo ops are everywhere.

First-timer tips
Walk from anywhere in the Village or use local transit. Parking is nearby, but transit and carpooling are easier. Dress in layers and wear winter-friendly footwear. Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome. Washrooms are on site.
The Ferris wheel
It was Whistler’s first ever Ferris wheel in 2024 and it stole the show. Ride at dusk for the best views when the sky turns deep blue and the lights pop. Smaller riders need an adult, and there is a simple height guideline posted at the entrance.
Skating under the lights
The outdoor rink at the Plaza is open during the festival. Pay admission at the gate and rent skates if you need them. Loop a few laps, grab a drink, then wander back through the installations.

Rain or snow, the show goes on. Severe weather updates will be posted on official channels, so check before you head out.
What not to bring
Leave drones, cigarettes, and alcohol at home. The goal is a safe, welcoming scene for everyone.
Food game
There are limited snacks on site. The smarter move is to grab takeout from the Village, then stroll the lights while it is still hot.
