Event Description:
This summer, Whistler turns 50 — and everyone’s invited to the celebration! From August 21 to 24, 2025, the town is throwing a four-day birthday bash packed with music, community events, and a whole lot of mountain-town magic.
Event Highlights:
Thursday, August 21 – Turn Up the Volume
Kick off the weekend at Olympic Plaza with a high-energy DJ set from Canadian duo PINEO & LOEB, joined by DJ Foxy Moron. Expect dance, rock, hip hop, and good vibes all around.
Friday, August 22 – Rock the Village
Sam Roberts Band takes the stage for a night of iconic Canadian rock, with DJ Whitness opening the show. Bring your blanket and lawn chair — this one’s going to be a crowd-pleaser.
Saturday, August 23 – A Day to Celebrate
It’s all about community. Join the Picnic in the Plaza with live shows, food vendors, interactive art, and family-friendly fun — Whistler’s version of a neighbourhood block party, just with better views.
Sunday, August 24 – Chill and Reflect
Close out the weekend with acoustic music, trail meet-ups, and a chance to pause and appreciate everything Whistler’s become over the last 50 years.

A Celebration for Everyone
The 50th anniversary theme is “Trailblazers to Tomorrow Makers”, honouring the people who helped build Whistler and those shaping its future. Look for special banners, artwork by local artist Kate Zessel, and unique events happening throughout the Village.
Locals and visitors alike can get involved: the Whistler Community Foundation is offering micro-grants to support mini-events across town — from potlucks to live music and more. Businesses and groups are encouraged to add their events to the RMOW’s community calendar.
