Beginners:
A lot of people visit Whistler and ski or snowboard for the first time and for some visitors to see snow for the first time. If you need equipment, rentals are available all over the village, we recommend using Premium Mountain Rentals who are conveniently located in the Crystal Lodge. Our team here at Crystal Lodge are happy to help you with organizing your rentals as well, you can access our rental form here. You will also need a lift ticket to go up the mountain; the more days you buy, the cheaper the ticket becomes, and you can also package them up with lessons. Our recommended areas for beginners are Olympic Chair and Emerald Chair. These areas are perfect to build up confidence and become familiar with the Whistler terrain!
Intermediate:
The blue (intermediate) network of ski runs at Whistler Blackcomb are perfect for those looking to explore both mountains and enjoy all different types of terrain. From wide runs with fun rollers to steeps and off-piste, you can find blue runs that accommodate skiers and snowboarders getting use to these types of terrain. For those who are starting to push into black diamond runs.
Run recommends:
The Saddle – A 1km long blue run that is accessible from either Harmony Chair or the Peak Chair.
Blue Line – Located on Blackcomb it’s an amazing to to cruise down while taking in the incredible panoramic view
Cloud Nine – Beneath 7th Heaven Chair on Blackcomb Mountain
Advanced:
Maybe you hold a Vail season pass and ski as much as you can during the season or you are looking to tick off Whistler Blackcomb on your extensive list of ski resorts you have visited around the world. Either way, if you are looking for technical tree skiing, steep and deep powder turns, or a world-class park, Whistler Blackcomb is the resort for you. With companies like Extremely Canadian and Powder Guides, you can get guided tours of some of Whistler’s famous runs, trees and drops. They also offer guided backcountry options and even heliskiing for those looking to ski turns outside of the resort!
Run recommends:
Spanky’s Ladder – A classic couloir that is only accessible via a boot pack from Glacier Express chair. Ruby and Garnet Bowl are easier to access and the best places to start, however, this is all expert-level terrain. To pre-ship your skis click here.
