Whistler Kid Play Areas

Whistler is known for being an adult playground with all of the fun things to do but did you know that there is also a bunch of local playgrounds for the kids (or kids at heart)?

Within Whistler, there are a number of different communities spanning from Cheakamus to Emerald and among them there are 12 neighbourhood parks. Some with play structures, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas, docks and large areas to run free. Outside of those 12 parks, there are also some key parks that are a must when you are visiting Whistler.

#1 would have to be Whistler Olympic Plaza Playground which has to be one of the best Olympic legacies left behind. This beautiful natural wood outdoor playground has it all from things that swing and slide to things that spin and move. Did I also mention that it is located right in the village next to a handful of coffee shops so you can have a treat while the kids are safely playing?

During the summer there is no better place to play and cool off than Meadow Park where they not only have a jungle gym but a free water park as well! This is the perfect place for your kids to run around, work up a sweat on the playground and then cool off by getting hosed down in the water park. You can spend all day at Meadow Park, bring a lunch or something you can cook on the BBQ which is located on one of the many picnic tables.

When you think of parks you usually think of playgrounds and jungle gyms but Whistler is a bit unique when it comes to its extreme sports so it should be no surprise that we also have a skate park and mini bike park for the little rippers. They can try their hand at some smaller features like seesaws, rollers, banked turns and jumps before they head into the bike park.
