Monty's Superfly Adventure
Monty the Moose has had a busy week enjoying a few of the many activities you can do while in Whistler. From racing down the skeleton track, head first, to ziplining across Whistler’s backcountry 600 feet off the ground, this moose knows where to go to have a fun adrenaline filled good time.
His week started off at the sliding center where, as you can see from the certificate, he got clocked at 101kilometers per hour. Monty, being the daredevil that he is, thought he could go faster in the air than he could on the ground so he decided to try out one of Whistlers newest attractions......Superfly Ziplines. His night started out with a heated snowcat ride up Rainbow Mountain to find a three course meal awaiting his arrival. The Bearfoot Bistro tantalized his taste buds with this amazing three course meal that Monty devoured. He said, and I quote that, “it was the best meal I’ve eaten at the top of a mountain”.....that is a big compliment coming from a moose.
After dinner the group got geared up into their safety harnesses and the zipping began. Superfly has 4 different lines boasting Canada’s longest at 1km, highest at over 600 feet, and fastest with speeds up to 100kms an hour. What better way to see Whistler’s backcountry than Superflying down past snowcapped mountains and old growth forest. After quite a bit of practice, lessons from one of the Crystals own ziplining experts, and adding extra weight in his pockets, Monty got clocked at 99kms an hour, 2 kms slower than the skeleton but he wasn’t fazed cause he figured where else can you stay in this world and go that fast without being behind a wheel.
Monty ended his evening warming up in the Crystal Lodge’s heated outdoor hot tub and then snuggled up in his king size bed to slumber through the night. Images of soaring through the forest filled his dreams.
We don’t want to let Monty have all the fun so we have put together a package for you and your loved ones so you too can Soar and Slumber at the Crystal Lodge. Not sure what Monty’s next adventure is going to be but I am sure it will be good considering where he lives!
Monty catching some zzz's after his zip Monty's Skeleton Certificate
I always stay at the Crystal Lodge when I travel to Whistler. Service is excellent, the location is perfectly central, and the rooms are well appointed. It's probably the best property you could possibly choose to stay at in terms of location and affordability. I have only stayed here for the past four years when visiting Whistler, by myself, with my boyfriend or with my family, and I will continue to give them my business.
