The Great Outdoors Festival
The Great Outdoors Festival is coming back to Whistler this May Long Weekend. The festival has taken a 20 year hiatus and is returning May 16th for four fun filled days. The GO Fest will be filled with activities and events that celebrate outdoor recreation; something Whistler knows how to do quite well!
The highlight event of the weekend will take place on Sunday May 18th, the much anticipated The Great Snow-Earth-Water Race is a part of Whistler’s colorful history. It’s a team event which consists of 6 challenges from ski/snowboard touring up Whistler, downhill skiing/snowboarding to the snow line, downhill mountain biking from the snowline to the village, running from the village to wayside park, canoeing through the River of Golden Dreams to the spit by Nick, and finishing with cross country biking back to Whistler Village. The team must have five to seven members, at least two women and two men as part of the whole. If you want a memorable time with your friends sign up and take part in this challenging event!
With the addition of this festival, summer in Whistler has never been so action packed. From festivals to events there is something going on every weekend for people of any age. This summer will see GO Fest, Whistler Half Marathon, Tough Mudder, Ironman, Pemberton Festival, Squamish Fest, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in the Park, Crankworks, Wanderlust, and GrandFondo . Believe it or not those are only the highlights, there is still so much more going on in our small town that you have to come here to experience it all.

Favorite Spot in Whistler
We go to Whistler a ton as a family to bike and have stayed at a ton of spots in the village and the Crystal is definitely our favorite. Can't beat the location and by far they have the best staff and service in town. Going above and beyond to make our family and dog feel welcomed. The one bedroom suites with vaulted ceilings feel very private and spacious. Also during noisy times when the village is going crazy late night, the rooms are extremely quiet which is a must for us.
