IRONMAN CanadaPosted on June 11, 2014
Ironman by definition is a person, as a worker or athlete, of great physical endurance who can be depended upon to perform a given task or job tirelessly. To me, that is an understatement; these men and women are put to the ultimate test and push their bodies to the brink to prove that anything is possible. “Swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles – BRAG FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE” – John Collins, IRONMAN Founder On July 27th, the entire town of Whistler will welcome over 2,600 athletes that will ...

Monty and the Crystal Team got the opportunity this week to go and check out the new Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. The weather was amazing and so to was the views. This 10 minute gondola ride takes you 885 meters above sea level where you get breathtaking views of Howe Sound and its surrounding areas. Whistler Bike Park OpeningPosted on May 15, 2014
This weekend marks the opening of the Whistler Bike Park and this town couldn’t be more pumped. The snow has almost completely melted and the sun is now shining on our pale skin which hasn’t seen much direct sun in months. The town is slowly starting to come out of hibernation because the opening of the bike park marks the start of summer and to celebrate the Whistler Bike Park has decided to add new extended play dates which mean longer hours to stay out and play. A few of you are probably reading this ...

Pitch In DayPosted on May 05, 2014
This weekend marked the annual Pitch in Day here in Whistler. Local community groups, the RMOW and volunteers collected garbage from Emerald all the way down to Function Junction from all the local streets, now that the snow has melted the garbage can no longer hide. Last year, 150 volunteers collected over 3000lbs of garbage which weights that same as a standard car! Monty and the Crystal Lodge team were out in full force this year all over the corridor. Last Tuesday was the annual Pitch in Day in ...

Melting snow and consistent warm weather can only mean one thing, spring is here and golf season is just around the corner here in Whistler. For all of you golf nuts, you probably already know that Pemberton Meadows, Furry Creek and Squamish Valley Golf Course opened a few weeks ago and that this was the opening weekend for Big Sky Golf and CC which is ranked among one of the top courses in Canada. The other big players who have just as impressive accolades are preparing to open in early May; those include ...
Spring Time in WhistlerPosted on April 23, 2014
Now that spring is here, we need to start switching gears from snow to sun and from skiing to biking! But what you probably don’t know is that Whistler in the summer is more than just biking, it is hiking, swimming, golfing, gondoling, skateboarding, BMX pump track riding and dog walking just to name a few. Whistler is full of activities for all ages during the summer months; did you know that we even have an outdoor water park for the little ones? Now that all of the ice has thawed the lakes are ...
A Wonderful Lodge with Beautiful Staff
I loved every minute of our stay here. The location in the village is perfect. The onsite restaurants are lovely. The rooms were beautiful. Ours was a King Suite - with full kitchen, fridge, coffee maker etc. Wish our stay had been longer.
I hope to return to Whistler in the not too distant future and I will not bother looking at any other accommodation options as this place ticked all the boxes.
