The Arts Side of the Festival

2017 Pro Photographers

Music isn't the only thing that you should watch out for this season, the Arts bring it every year and the Pro Photographers Showdown is no exception.  Some of the worlds best compete for the title of Best of Show and the competition this year is stiff.  Just announced is the 5 finalist competing for the covenant title:

Jake Darwen | Bruno Long | Andrew Miller | Ben Thouard | Daniel Ronnback

Pro Photographer

The showdown takes place on April 13th at the Whistler Conference Centre starting at 9:00pm, doors open at 8:00pm.

Silent Disco

Another fun event that has become quite popular over the past few years is the Kokanee Silent Disco that takes place on April 17th at the GLC.  This event features 3 DJ's that all spin different music at the same time on three different channels that come through the headphones which you are given at the door.  That is right, you don't like the music on one channel you can simply switch it up, it is like 3 parties happening at the same time for the price of one!

State of the ART

The Whistler Conference Center is home to State of the ART from April 7th - 14th.  Come by and witness some of the best art inspired by our small mountain town.  There are no rules, the artists come from far and wide to create a community of art like no other.  "Sub-cultures and anti-movements are celebrated and portrayed in gritty and thought provoking mediums"

There is no entrance fee, you can simply come and stroll around the Grand Foyer at the WCC and immerse yourself in the artistic talent that is before you.  You can even pick up a one of a kind piece for yourself because all of the art is on sale during the festival.
